Strapping and Taping

Strapping and Taping

  • Taping and strapping can aid in the recovery of joint pain and injuries, and assist in injury prevention.
  • Goals of athletic strapping are to restrict the motion of the injured joint, compress soft tissues to reduce swelling, support anatomical structures involved in injury, replace or secure a splint, secure dressings and bandages, and protect the injured joint from getting hurt.
  • Goals of taping are to provide minor support and improve micro-circulation in an area of injury
  • Strapping and taping both help with pain relief, muscle support and reduced swelling.
